Stripes have been incorporated into clothing for as long as one could remember. It was first introduces as a woven textile made from various colors of yarn which led to a variety of patterns of stripes in all sorts of colors. It was originally worn by prostitutes, madmen and criminals but never by just an ordinary person. As time progressed stripes were being used in fashion trends. It was also incorporated into the design of furniture as well as accessories. Stripes can be found in fashion for both men and women. Today you would find it very common to find stripes in men's shirts or ties. Additionally, vertical stripes appear to make the body look slimmer which is something that women today take advantage of. Stripes are an iconic fashion trend and looks like it wont be going anywhere for awhile.
